AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
The Automotive Technology course is certified by ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) as a maintenance and light repair program. This assures that the curriculum follows the stringent standards identified by NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation). Program content follows the 8 ASE areas of the Maintenance and Light Repair designation. The program emphasizes the development of appropriate work habits and attitudes, leadership, interpersonal communications and teamwork skills as well as the technical skill necessary for employment. Classroom study utilizes hands-on training on the latest state of the art test equipment in the automotive field.
This is a two-year course. Ideally, students take Auto Tech I their junior year and continue in to Auto Tech II their senior year. However, students are able to take Auto Tech I their senior year.
Credential Available: ASE: Maintenance & Light Repair, Electrical and Electronics, NC3: Snap on DVOM, AC Delco, Subaru-U, Ford ACE, ISUZU Truck University and S/P2 safety certifications.
